About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Vascular Technologist to join our team at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI. As a Vascular Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and diagnostic imaging services.

Responsibilities
  • Perform vascular diagnostic procedures to detect peripheral vascular disease or obstructions.
  • Evaluate patient for presence of peripheral vascular disease by selecting most effective procedures within regulatory and compliance guidelines.
  • Perform appropriate diagnostic procedures, record patient test results, and report results.
  • Monitor patient comfort and safety during tests, alerting physicians to abnormalities or changes in patient responses.
  • Maintain adequate supplies and verify all equipment is in proper working condition; report deficiencies and failures.
  • Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS.
Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required: Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 12 months of hire date or job transfer date, Sonography Tech specializing in Vascular Sonography credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 12 months of hire date or job transfer date, Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 months of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
