Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient-centered care in accordance with departmental requirements and state and specialty standards. As part of the patient care team, the Respiratory Therapist performs diagnostic tests, therapeutic procedures, and monitors patients receiving mechanical ventilation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure, and document findings.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with artificial airway placement and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient response to therapy and notify providers as needed.
  • Transport ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent situations.

Requirements:
  • State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Associate Degree
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 30 days of employment
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation within 60 days of employment
