JOB PURPOSE:

Performing patient assessments, general respiratory careprocedures and protocols, critical care procedures in adult careareas, blood gas analysis, maintenance and management of allequipment and patient education.

KEYRESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs basicpatient assessments.
  • Performs advanced patientassessments.
  • Ensuresdocumentation.
  • Administersmedication.
  • Proficient in arterial blood gas/co-oximetry, interpreting and reporting ofresults.
  • Inserts, maintains, and documentsarterial lines per protocol.
  • Ensures basicairway management and clearance.
  • Ensuresadvanced airway management andclearance.
  • Initiates, monitors and managesinvasive mechanical ventilation.
  • Initiates,monitors and manages non-invasive positive pressureventilation.
  • Performs specialprocedures.
  • Safeguards patient care equipmentand maintains fiscal responsibility
  • Contributesto quality and outcomes.
  • Functions aspreceptor


JobQualification

MINIMUM EDUCATIONREQUIRED:

Associates Degree in RespiratoryTherapy Sciences

MINIMUM EXPERIENCEREQUIRED:

None.

MINIMUMLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:

Credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Careas a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and Licensed by theState of Georgia under the Composite State Board of MedicalExaminers.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Current certifications in BCLS, ACLS. Must be activelypracticing and maintaining all required competencies. One (1) yearof experience in performing professional respiratory dutiespreferred.
