Phlebotomist Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory Department. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting high-quality blood samples from patients, preparing specimens for lab testing, and completing clerical duties in a timely manner to maintain the department's efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect blood samples from patients using established procedures
  • Ensure accurate patient identification and specimen processing
  • Perform data entry and processing of specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as requested by test orders
  • Provide excellent customer service skills by greeting patients and the community in a respectful manner
  • Perform departmental-related clerical duties, such as checking inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones as needed
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly

Requirements:

  • High School Degree or GED
  • Phlebotomist Certification preferred but not required
  • One-year phlebotomy experience preferred but not required
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred
