Project team members will have the chance to engage with senior management of our clients, while also enhancing their skills in technical proficiency, business development, client relations, leadership, project management, and talent development.

Responsibilities include supporting internal controls over financial reporting (ICOFR) in accordance with OMB Circular A-123 across various financial and business process domains, including Property, Plant, and Equipment (PP&E).

Additionally, the role involves assisting in the formulation and execution of corrective action plans and broader remediation strategies aimed at addressing internal control and audit deficiencies, thereby strengthening financial processes.

Providing a comprehensive range of financial statement audit and audit risk management support that aligns with the agency's objectives to maintain a clean audit opinion and enhance internal controls.

Evaluating the implications of new guidance on financial operations and facilitating the implementation of such guidance when necessary.

More broadly, this team member will engage in a diverse array of project-specific tasks encompassing a wide range of consulting capabilities, including:

  • Documenting and assessing business processes while recommending enhancements
  • Producing various communications, from informal emails to formal memos, presentations, and executive briefings
  • Assisting clients in analyzing projects and programs to identify risks and developing, applying, and monitoring mitigations
  • Supporting clients in data collection and analysis, creating models and visualizations, and deriving insights to enhance decision-making
  • Analyzing and improving policies and procedures for various programs and operational requirements

In addition to client-facing responsibilities, this position will contribute to vital activities that foster business growth, strengthen internal operations, and cultivate a positive work environment for all employees.

Responsibilities also include participating in business development initiatives, such as identifying potential client needs, developing proposals, and engaging in client and internal meetings.

Participation in mentorship and coaching programs for staff is encouraged, along with assisting in the creation of learning materials and presentations to support employee skill enhancement.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, or a related financial field, along with three (3) years of experience in Financial Management, including:

  • Reviewing documentation related to property, plant, and equipment
  • Understanding financial statement audit standards
  • Responding to audit inquiries

Demonstrated expertise in advising federal clients on financial reporting and compliance with federal guidance, including OMB Circular A-136, the GAO Green Book, and other relevant regulations.

Proven ability to implement innovative solutions to meet evolving organizational needs, fostering creativity and collaboration in financial systems.

Expertise in federal audit support, corrective action planning, and remediation with a focus on internal controls over financial reporting and management assertions.

Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and federal financial accounting standards is essential.
