Quality Inspector Lead Job Description

MMD Medical, a Velosity Company, is seeking a Quality Inspector Lead to support our 1st shift at our Brooklyn Park, MN location. The Quality Lead Inspector position is responsible for ensuring the overall execution of quality plans, sampling plans, and control plans for incoming, in-process, and final inspection requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with Planning and Operations to define critical inspection priorities and ensure inspections meet delivery expectations.
  • Primarily responsible for the training of other inspectors and oversee all training provided in the quality inspection areas/labs.
  • Perform all aspects of the Quality Inspector role when required, including incoming receiving, in-process inspection, lot acceptance, and initiate QS nonconformance records.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED-General Studies
  • Certificate-Machine Trades or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of Quality experience, preferably in a Medical Device or Component manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic Quality Systems (nonconformance, equipment calibration) and inspection standards
  • Ability to read, write in English, comprehend and follow work instructions, and use a computer and hand tools

Work Environment:

This is a non-smoking, professional tool shop with normal lighting and climate control. The employee may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors, exposure to heat, noise, dust, dirt, oil, and waste.

Protective Clothing Required:

Closed-toed/slip-resistant shoes and eye and ear protection are required in certain locations.
