Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Research Nurse III to join our team at Dartmouth Health. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, contributing to the success of clinical trials and advancing patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive patient care to inpatients and outpatients receiving investigational therapy, ensuring adherence to research protocols and regulations.
  • Screen and recruit potential research participants, verifying eligibility and ensuring enrollment requirements are met.
  • Educate patients and families regarding investigational therapy, collaborating with the medical team to ensure effective communication.
  • Ensure patients are scheduled for all study assessments as required per research protocol, preparing and administering medications as needed.
  • Evaluate research patients for drug and/or disease-related toxicities, managing symptoms and coordinating with the research team to address patient care delivery issues.
  • Adhere to Good Clinical Practice (GCP)/Human Subjects Protection (HSP) guidelines, maintaining current training and serving as an expert resource to study teams.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to design studies and conduct clinical trials, ensuring ethical conduct and protection of vulnerable populations.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to maintain patient and staff safety, monitoring for and detecting issues related to data capture, collection, or management.
  • Utilize electronic systems, technologies, and software necessary for study operations, training others and ensuring accurate documentation of study visit assessments.
  • Participate in committees and working groups to strengthen research implementation and practice, contributing to the development of data collection documents and instruments.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing school required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Clinical Research.
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical nursing experience required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Excellent attention to detail required.
  • RN licensure in the appropriate state of practice required.
  • Specialty certifications considered with approval of Office of Research Operations Nursing leadership.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP)/Human Subjects Protection (HSP) certification required.
  • SOCRA/ACRP certification required.
