Job Description

GE Healthcare is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineering Co-op to join our team. As a co-op, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of assignments with responsibilities and hands-on involvement in product design cycles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize 3D modeling, CAD tools, and technical documentation skills to verify, test, and document new products as well as support design changes throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Interact with cross-functional teams to understand design and business constraints.
  • Take initiative, manage projects, and communicate effectively to drive business outcomes.
Requirements:
  • 3.0 cumulative overall GPA or better (in a 4.0 scale)
  • High self-confidence
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms
  • Demonstrated analytical ability and technical competency in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering disciplines
  • Proven leadership skills and experience
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently and within teams
  • Able to work for a minimum of 28 weeks
  • Must be currently in or be willing to relocate to position location
  • Must be a full-time student pursuing a degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering (with an emphasis in Mechanical Engineering)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior intern, co-op, or research experience in design engineering or manufacturing or research experience in the design field
  • Strong commitment to a career in technology and a passion for engineering
  • Demonstrated analytic approach to problem solving
  • Proven adaptable to difficult situations
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and community involvement
