Behavioral Health Specialist

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is a vital member of our team at St. John's Episcopal Hospital. As a BHT, you will work closely with our RNs to provide patient-centered care that is trauma-informed and compassionate. Your responsibilities will include individual interactions, group facilitation, and patient and visitor searches. You will be expected to work collaboratively with other disciplines to promote a culture of safety and treatment excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care under the direction of the RN
- Facilitate individual and group interactions
- Conduct patient and visitor searches
- Collaborate with other disciplines to promote a culture of safety and treatment excellence
- Associates Degree in Social Services or a health-related area, or 60 college credits
- At least 6 months experience in Nursing or Behavioral Health or Customer Service
- Current certification in Heart Saver CPR BLS according to the American Heart Association Standards
- Completion of training in Preventing & Managing Crisis Situations (PMCS)
