Job Overview:

SP+ is seeking a skilled Cash and Credit Specialist to manage our accounts receivable and cash disbursement processes. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of these processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Receivable Management: Post customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
  • Receivables Updates: Update unpaid invoices by totaling them.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain records by microfilming invoices, debits, and credits.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Verify the validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information.
  • Adjusting Entries: Resolve valid or authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries.
  • Pending Deductions: Resolve invalid or unauthorized deductions by following pending deductions procedures.
  • Receivables Summary: Summarize receivables by maintaining invoice accounts; coordinating monthly transfer to accounts receivable account; verifying totals; preparing report.

Requirements:

  • Preferred Experience: Prior accounts receivable experience preferred.
  • Computer Systems: Knowledge of computer systems and solid PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels within the company, and with vendors and customers.
  • Journals and Ledgers: Ability to read and understand journal entries and the flow of information through a general ledger.

Salary and Benefits:

We offer a salary of $22.50 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, long/short term disability, life insurance, accident insurance, 401k, and paid time off.
