Job Summary:

Dedicated Building Services is seeking a skilled Floorcare Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our clients' hard surface floors.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine floor care duties, including stripping, dressing, buffing, and waxing of hard floors, carpet extraction and shampooing, and terrazzo maintenance.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, such as buffers, auto scrubbers, and other floor machines, tools, and supplies.
• Mix and apply cleaning solutions as needed to perform duties.
• Perform periodic routine maintenance of equipment required to perform tasks.
• Ensure all equipment is kept clean and report any malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor.
• Shampoo carpets and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least six months of related experience in buffing and/or waxing wood, tile, and terrazzo floor surfaces.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions to communicate and interact effectively with supervisor, co-workers, and customers.
• Good working knowledge of mixing and use of all chemicals needed to perform duties.
• Good working knowledge of equipment use and maintenance required to perform tasks.
• Ability to work safely in accordance with company and job site safety procedures.

Work Environment:

• Work may be performed indoors, outdoors, or both.
• Regularly exposed to dirt, dust, disinfectants, solvents, or cleaning chemicals.
• Noise level may be low to high depending on the equipment used.
• May be required to report to more than one work site in a given shift.
• Must adhere to company and work site safety and environmental protection practices.

Physical Demands:

• Regularly required to bend, sit, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, reach with hands and arms at shoulder level or below.
• Occasionally required to kneel, climb, and reach with hands and arms above shoulder level.
• Occasionally required to lift up to 60 pounds.
