Job Summary

As a Hospitalist Physician Assistant at the University of Vermont Medical Center, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in an inpatient medicine-based practice. This dynamic position offers the opportunity to work autonomously while collaborating with a Hospital Medicine physician to deliver comprehensive care to adult inpatients with a variety of illnesses.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care within a collegial, multi-disciplinary team-based practice
• Complete comprehensive history and physical exams, and provide diagnostic and therapeutic care to adult inpatients
• Practice independently within the customary scope of nursing or physician assistant practice and perform medical functions within a designated scope of practice
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary inpatient teams, including nursing, care management, rehab services, and respiratory therapy
• Manage effective and safe transitions out of the hospital in collaboration with nursing facilities and outpatient providers

Requirements

• Board certified or board eligible Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in direct patient care required
• ACLS certification is a requirement of the position
