Veterinary Practice Operations Manager

UrgentVet bridges the gap between daytime general practice and emergency/overnight care, offering after-hours care for canine and feline patients without the additional expense of emergency clinic fees. Our practices offer care for common urgent cases, including wound management, ear infections, vomiting/diarrhea, and euthanasia, and each of our paperless clinics is specially designed to deliver efficient care and equipped with cloud-based EMR, digital x-ray, and a full suite of IDEXX in-house lab equipment.
About the Position:
Job SummaryThe Regional Practice Manager will provide leadership and guidance to our veterinary practices when there is a practice manager vacancy at one of our clinics. This dynamic position within the American Veterinary Group (AVG) of hospitals requires adaptability to a variety of practice environments as you support various clinics within the UrgentVet network of practices.
In the absence of a permanent practice manager, the Regional Practice Manager provides structure, leadership, and focuses on change management to develop and lead the practice team. You will work with the Regional Director of Operations to recruit and onboard a new practice manager to join the hospital team. Typical placements at our hospitals are 60-90 days as we work to hire and onboard a permanent practice manager for the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- People Management: recruiting, developing, disciplining, and terminating paraprofessional staff, including annual performance reviews
- Financial Management: overseeing the hospital's P&L, including accounts payable/accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory
- Customer Service: resolving client issues and escalations and overseeing follow-up communications
- Special Projects: working in partnership with the Regional Director of Operations on special projects, as assigned by leadership.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Prior veterinary experience required
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field required. Will consider directly related experience in lieu of education
- A positive, can-do attitude; strong people skills/emotional intelligence; excellent analytical skills; willingness to roll up your sleeves and chip in to help the team
Salary and Benefits:
