As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating students with speech, language, and communication disorders to enhance their educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough assessments to identify speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in students, utilizing standardized tests and clinical observations.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address each student's unique needs, incorporating evidence-based practices and strategies.
  • Direct Therapy Services: Provide direct therapy services to students, both in individual and group settings, utilizing a variety of techniques and modalities.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' communication and academic goals, ensuring a comprehensive and coordinated approach.
  • IEP Participation: Participate in IEP meetings, contributing to the creation and review of student goals and objectives, and ensuring that treatment plans align with IEP goals.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary, and providing regular progress reports to parents and educators.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and timely records of assessments, therapy sessions, and progress reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and school policies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Licensure and Certification: Valid SLP license or certification in the state of New Jersey, and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred.
  • Experience: Experience in a school setting is highly desirable, with a strong understanding of educational environments and the needs of students with communication disorders.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
