Key Responsibilities:

  • Involvement in the education and advancement of OB/GYN medical students, residents, and MFM fellows.
  • Formulates and implements a comprehensive medical treatment strategy addressing biological, psychological, and sociocultural aspects.
  • Conducts thorough physical assessments of patients in a respectful and systematic manner, prescribing appropriate medical treatments and clinical medications.
  • Collects essential and accurate information through reviewing relevant records and engaging with patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Reports any hazardous or unsafe conditions, equipment failures, and supply shortages to the appropriate personnel.
  • Documents all Quality Assurance (QA) incidents, including medication errors, following departmental protocols.
  • Takes initiative to enhance knowledge and skills by participating in continuing education opportunities.
  • Makes informed decisions regarding interventions based on patient data, preferences, current scientific evidence, and clinical judgment.
  • Engages in perinatal consultations, maternal and fetal care, and obstetric ultrasound services.
  • Provides daily instruction and interaction with residents and medical students.
  • Conducts outpatient consultations and ultrasound clinics.
  • Delivers direct care to patients with high-risk pregnancies.
  • Offers consultation for hospitalized patients under high-risk pregnancy services.
  • Provides telephone consultations for non-service unit patients.
  • Participates in inpatient labor and delivery at the designated women's and children's hospital.
  • Utilizes electronic health record systems for documentation and billing processes.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Adheres to institutional policies and procedures while safeguarding university assets.
  • Demonstrates the ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Handles confidential information with the utmost discretion.
  • Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends as required.
  • Commits to the core values of the institution.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology and subspecialty board eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine.

Certification and Licensing:

  • Certification in the relevant specialty or field is required.
  • Possession of an active medical license and DEA registration in Florida.
  • Credentialing is necessary.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Essential Requirements:

  • MD/DO with board eligibility/certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology and subspecialty board eligibility in Maternal Fetal Medicine. Candidates must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical license.
