The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Services offers a unique opportunity for an Assistant Professor of Clinical. The selected candidate will function as an attending physician within the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM), concentrating on the management and treatment of obstetric patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Involvement in the education and advancement of OB/GYN medical students, residents, and MFM fellows.
- Formulates and implements a comprehensive medical treatment strategy addressing biological, psychological, and sociocultural aspects.
- Conducts thorough physical assessments of patients in a respectful and systematic manner, prescribing appropriate medical treatments and clinical medications.
- Collects essential and accurate information through reviewing relevant records and engaging with patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Reports any hazardous or unsafe conditions, equipment failures, and supply shortages to the appropriate personnel.
- Documents all Quality Assurance (QA) incidents, including medication errors, following departmental protocols.
- Takes initiative to enhance knowledge and skills by participating in continuing education opportunities.
- Makes informed decisions regarding interventions based on patient data, preferences, current scientific evidence, and clinical judgment.
- Engages in perinatal consultations, maternal and fetal care, and obstetric ultrasound services.
- Provides daily instruction and interaction with residents and medical students.
- Conducts outpatient consultations and ultrasound clinics.
- Delivers direct care to patients with high-risk pregnancies.
- Offers consultation for hospitalized patients under high-risk pregnancy services.
- Provides telephone consultations for non-service unit patients.
- Participates in inpatient labor and delivery at the designated women's and children's hospital.
- Utilizes electronic health record systems for documentation and billing processes.
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Adheres to institutional policies and procedures while safeguarding university assets.
- Demonstrates the ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively under pressure while meeting deadlines.
- Handles confidential information with the utmost discretion.
- Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends as required.
- Commits to the core values of the institution.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology and subspecialty board eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine.
Certification and Licensing:
- Certification in the relevant specialty or field is required.
- Possession of an active medical license and DEA registration in Florida.
- Credentialing is necessary.
Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Essential Requirements:
- MD/DO with board eligibility/certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology and subspecialty board eligibility in Maternal Fetal Medicine. Candidates must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical license.
