Position Overview

The Counselor Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Counselors and Counselor Interns who deliver treatment and case management services to clients, ensuring adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and BayMark policies. This role is crucial in guaranteeing timely documentation of patient services aligned with the care plan. The supervisor will also assess the comprehensive needs—physical, psychological, social, and spiritual—of assigned clients. Additionally, the supervisor will manage associated expenditures responsibly, in line with the organization's budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Allocate and adjust caseloads for counselors as necessary.
  • Oversee all intake operations and provide direction.
  • Evaluate intake assessments for quality assurance.
  • Guide pre-admission decisions, case reviews, and counseling sessions to ensure compliance with policies and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct quality assurance file evaluations.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of counseling services to all clients.
  • Maintain an active counseling caseload.
  • Provide direct oversight to clinicians and facilitate ongoing staff supervision through meetings, training sessions, guest speakers, and literature reviews.
  • Ensure that clinical records are accurate and up-to-date, in compliance with Federal and State Regulations governing NTP clinics.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications | Education | Certifications:

  • Required Licensure: Current licensure in New Mexico as an independently licensed clinician and supervisor: LISW/LCSW, LPCC, LMFT, LPAT, psychologist, psychiatrist, and LADAC for substance use disorder (SUD) only.
  • Prior experience working with individuals facing chemical dependency issues.
  • Must exhibit a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude towards the patient population.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screening.
