Production Supervisor 2nd Shift

The Production Supervisor 2nd Shift is responsible for overseeing the production department, ensuring the product meets specifications, and adhering to HACCP procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform as a champion for Safety and Quality.
- Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments, and directly supervise the systems integration and test functions to ensure the production of company products at the highest quality at the lowest possible cost, meeting company performance standards, and customer specification and delivery requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Develop, recommend, and implement departmental policies and procedures, processes, and methods.
- Continually evaluate processes and methods, recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment, performance, utilization of people, and quality of product.
- Act as a technical resource to address and resolve inquiries and problems; analyze and resolve work problems and assist workers in solving work problems.
- Maintain departmental supplies, tools, equipment, and order as necessary.
- Ensure the completion of all required production paperwork, records, documentation, such as timecards, quality records, etc.
- Supervise production team.
- Responsible for scheduling appropriate staffing levels, managing time and attendance and approving employees' hours worked. And approve vacation schedules.
- Develop staff through training, reviews, monitoring and mentoring.
- Handles employee concerns and issues.
- Ensure correct training of all employees regarding HACCP, GMPs, Safety, Quality and other company procedures.
- Work with production scheduler to plan correct inventory levels and opposite shift supervisor to execute production schedule.
- Verify materials on hand to complete schedule, and order materials as needed.
- Collect and report data on department performance and identifying discrepancies compared to standards.
- Facilitate communication between other departments and shifts.
- Complete year-end performance evaluations for direct reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
This position will have both walking (70%) and seated (30%) duties. This position may need to lift up to 50lbs occasionally. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 50 lbs while moving product and/or packaging. Specific vision abilities required by this job include far and near vision. Depth perception is required to move around departments and supplies. The employee must be able to hear. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
