Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Marine Yard Operations Specialist to become a vital part of our team. This full-time role operates from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional flexibility required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the yard and facilities are maintained in a tidy and organized manner.
  • Effectively communicate with the Yard Manager and Office Manager.
  • Assist clients and their vessels during docking and undocking procedures.
  • Operate and oversee the TraveLift and Marine Fork Lift for boat hauling and launching.
  • Utilize radios for efficient yard communication.
  • Perform necessary repairs around the facility and docks.
  • Manage landscaping tasks, including mowing and weed control.
  • Exhibit flexibility to work beyond standard hours if required.
  • Follow directions from the Yard Manager.
  • Prepare and clean yard areas, including laying tarps and adjusting boat stands.
  • Monitor facility access to maintain a secure environment, including vendor check-ins.
  • Regularly empty yard trash receptacles into the dumpster.
  • Keep machinery fueled and conduct routine maintenance (oil changes and minor repairs).

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience operating heavy machinery, including Telehandlers and Kubota Tractors, is preferred.
  • Experience with Marine TraveLift operation is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Marine Forklift operation is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Compensation will be determined based on experience.

Westland Boatyard & Marina is a Do-It-Yourself facility where we empower our customers to work on their boats independently or engage outside contractors. We provide boat hauling services, wet slips, and indoor rack storage, along with forklift services for vessels up to 24 feet.
