Key Responsibilities:

  • Design of Test Fixtures: Gather design specifications and collaborate with cross-functional teams to create engine test frames, lab endurance test fixtures, and engine test head rigs. Prepare the Bill of Materials (BOM), assemblies, and component CAD models along with 2D drawings.
  • Creation of 2D Drawings: Develop comprehensive product assembly and component drawings based on existing CAD models, adhering to best practices, design standards, and customer specifications. Establish appropriate datum systems and apply dimension tolerances and GD&T in accordance with design standards.
  • Modification of Product Designs: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product design change requirements and update CAD models and drawings accordingly.
  • Tolerance Analysis: Conduct analysis on component and assembly dimension tolerances and GD&T under nominal and worst-case scenarios, ensuring global clearance and functionality of products. Tolerance studies may involve single or dual dimension assessments.

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma is mandatory; no advanced degree is necessary.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with CREO tools is advantageous.
  • Experience with PDM systems, particularly Windchill, is preferred.

Competencies:

  • Cross-Functional Design Integration: Translates stakeholder requirements into virtual designs and effectively communicates design capabilities through approved cross-functional reviews.
  • Mechanical System Design: Develops a comprehensive understanding of mechanical systems, guiding the creation of innovative design concepts that meet customer expectations across all lifecycle stages.
  • Mechanical Design Specifications: Produces detailed specifications in the form of solid models, configured engineering bills of materials, and precise drawings that convey the necessary information for manufacturing and inspection.
  • Mechanical Design Modeling and Analysis: Generates CAD models that comply with standards to represent system design concepts and facilitate various system-level analyses, including Dimensional Variation Analysis and Finite Element Analysis.
