Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Records Specialist to join our team at Appledorn Assisted Living Center South. As a key member of our Resident Support Department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of resident records, while providing exceptional care and support to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule and coordinate resident assessments and service plan conferences
  • Maintain tickler files for resident and employee vaccinations
  • Assist with resident record audits and ensure all required documentation is up-to-date
  • Set up new resident files and maintain accurate records
  • Monitor and maintain Chrome Book and Tablet function and inventory
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain confidentiality of resident records
  • Coordinate completion of MI CHOICE task sheets and timely submission for billing
  • Schedule outside services and coordinate with Med Techs and Shift Supervisors
  • Assist with staff scheduling and attendance management
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; MA or CNA preferred
  • Minimum 18 years of age and ability to perform essential functions of the position
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
