We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician II to join our team at Christus Health. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the safe and effective use of medications.
Key Responsibilities- Assist pharmacists with medication histories and verify patient medication records accurately.
- Train and mentor junior technicians to ensure they meet the required competencies.
- Prepare and compound pharmaceuticals, including non-sterile and sterile products, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition products.
- Issue controlled substances to patient care areas and maintain accurate records.
- Provide efficient and timely services, ensuring that daily activities are complete and recorded.
- Maintain current technician license and ensure CE records and licensure are up-to-date.
- Participate in quality improvement and medication use review activities, collecting data and conducting monitors and inspections.
- Conduct designated interventions, such as IV to PO conversions and pharmacokinetic dosing support.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 3-5 years of pharmacy technician experience preferred.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of practice required.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred.
- ACPE accredited IV certification program, including hazardous (minimum 40 hours).
This is a per diem as needed position, with a varying work schedule. As a member of our team, you will be working in a fast-paced environment, providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the safe and effective use of medications.
