Job Description

This position plays a vital role in supporting product innovation and process development across various teams at Corning. As a Development Technician, you will work closely with engineers to design and execute experiments that drive new product development and integration into production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process innovations that enhance manufacturing efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Develop and execute experimentation plans to integrate new products and processes into production.
  • Operate measurement devices and collect data to support process understanding and improvement.
  • Train and coach new personnel on equipment and processes.
  • Provide inputs to project plans, ensuring accurate timelines and resource allocation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a technical or scientific field.
  • 3-8 years of experience in technician roles, with mechanical/process aptitude and ability to design/fabricate experimental equipment/tools.
  • Knowledge and capability to run fiber-making and processing processes, as well as support equipment such as FTIR benches, microscopes, coating/ink purge, and mixing equipment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Estimated Salary: $61,311 - $82,555
