Job Summary

Simmons Equipment Company is a leading provider of innovative solutions for the mining industry. We are seeking a skilled Utility / Maintenance Tech to join our team.

This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing general cleanup, operating a forklift, and assisting in the upkeep of machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work independently to complete tasks and projects
  • Perform basic repairs and maintenance on equipment
  • Document work performed to track labor and materials used
  • Organize work to be performed and prioritize tasks
  • Manage time effectively to meet production schedules
  • Communicate with colleagues to request assistance or provide support
  • Conduct daily inspections of forklifts and document findings
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Operate a forklift to move materials
  • Demonstrate ability to safely use overhead cranes or jib hoists
  • Follow established safety protocols and regulations
  • Identify and report hazards related to equipment
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Basic math and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well with others and communicate effectively
  • Proficiency with hand tools
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and written instructions
