Job Summary:As a Medical Surgical Travel Nurse, you will conduct patient assessments, prioritize data collection, and perform ongoing assessments and treatments as ordered by a physician. You will also document patient findings, provide education and support to patients' families, and participate in discharge planning.
Responsibilities:- Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
- Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
- Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
- Prepare equipment and aid physicians during examination and treatment of patients.
- Educate patients on surgical procedures.
- Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by physicians.
- BLS and NIH certifications
- 2 years of recent acute care experience
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
- Ability to lift 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
As a Medical Surgical Travel Nurse, you will work in a dynamic environment, treating patients who may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative.
