Role ResponsibilitiesThe Echo Technician will perform ultrasonic diagnostic examinations following established protocols as directed by medical professionals. Key responsibilities include:
- Utilizing ultrasound technology to produce high-quality images of internal body structures for diagnostic purposes.
- Overseeing and guiding ultrasound staff, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Maintaining and troubleshooting ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
Education:
- Completion of a diploma or certificate program from an accredited Ultrasound school is required.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in Abdomen (AB), Obstetrics (OB), or Vascular (RVT) is mandatory.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Facility-Specific Credentials:
- ARDMS or CCI Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI RVS) certification is essential.
- Employing ultrasound equipment to direct sound waves to specific areas of the body, capturing detailed images for medical evaluation.
- Providing direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs and preparing patients for procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining the confidentiality of patient information.
- Preparing examination rooms and verifying equipment readiness prior to use.
- Documenting and presenting findings to physicians for accurate diagnosis.
