Nursing Assistant Clinical Decision Unit

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our Clinical Decision Unit team at Penn Medicine. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff.
Responsibilities:- Provide patient care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, including bathing, feeding, and positioning patients.
- Assist with vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
- Collect and label specimens, such as urine and stool samples.
- Transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher, using safety measures appropriate for patient and vehicle.
- Perform basic troubleshooting, such as replacing loose or missing electrodes for patients on remote telemetry monitoring.
- Document patient care in an accurate, professional, and timely manner using Soarian and paper documentation forms.
- Communicate patient and unit information to the RN and interdisciplinary care team in a timely manner.
- Seek help from RN when needed and inform RN when experiencing difficulty completing an assignment.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
- Certified Nurse Aid (CNA) certification preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 0-1 years of training and/or experience at an acute care facility or student nurse with hospital-based clinical experience required.
