Job Summary

Mercy Clinic Dermatology seeks a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will provide excellent patient care, prepare patients for visits, assist with in-office testing, administer vaccines and injections, and schedule follow-up appointments.

Detailed Job Description

The Medical Assistant will work closely with providers and the clinical care team to monitor and coordinate the delivery of care plans. This role requires a high degree of attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication with patients and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for visits by completing Advanced Standard room process.
  • Assist with in-office testing, including drawing blood, completing mental status exams, EKGs, walking oxygen studies, and point-of-care testing.
  • Administer vaccines and other injections within scope of practice.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments when needed per office policy.
  • Collaborate with providers and the clinical care team to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements and Qualifications

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED, obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire, and possess preferred experience of 6 months of clinical healthcare experience. Certified Medical Assistants must also have active certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA), and Specialty LPNs must have active LPN licensure.
