United Veterinary Care is seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our emergency department team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our medical teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients, utilizing technical skills such as diagnostic sample collection, venipuncture, radiography, medication, and fluid administration.
  • Understand the importance of a clean and orderly facility, and take initiative to clean or organize as part of your normal job duties.
  • Triage and obtain physical history, assess patient vitals, and provide essential care.
  • Assist with patient procedures and surgeries, pre and post-operative patient care, surgical suite, instrument, and equipment care.
  • Anticipate the doctor's needs and provide medical care, recordkeeping, and client communication as ordered by the veterinarian.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a veterinary practice, preferably as a veterinary assistant or in a related role.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and be willing to pitch in and assist with all roles, including customer service tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to lift and restrain pets of at least 40 pounds and work on feet most of the day.
