Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounting Manager to join our team at GPW and Associates, Inc. This role involves reviewing insurance company financial statements and tax returns, handling special projects, and collaborating with a talented team of problem solvers.

Responsibilities:

  • Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and federal and state income tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Lead and foster a culture of open communication, promoting teamwork to achieve goals and drive business success.
  • Assist in resolving complex accounting issues and provide guidance to team members to ensure seamless execution of tasks.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes and procedures to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Perform tasks of Accounting Analysts and assist with accounting and tax work to support the team's objectives.
  • Handle confidential client matters with discretion and professionalism.
  • Meet productivity and efficiency standards (billable hours) to deliver high-quality results.
  • Maintain familiarity with IRS Circular 230, AICPA Professional Code of Conduct, and relevant regulations to stay up-to-date on industry standards.
  • Complete special projects within defined timeframes and minimal review notes to demonstrate expertise and adaptability.
  • Communicate directly with external clients on various topics to build strong relationships and provide exceptional service.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Five or more years of insurance company accounting and/or tax experience.
  • At least one year of experience in a senior accounting or manager role.
  • High initiative, positivity, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, solution-oriented, and resourceful individual who can thrive in a dynamic team setting.
  • Effective communication skills, strong work ethic, and high personal integrity to maintain confidentiality and trust.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and QuickBooks to leverage technology for maximum efficiency.
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP, GAAP, and IRS Tax Code/Regulations to stay current on industry developments.
  • CPA certification is a plus, but not required.

Compensation:

We offer a competitive salary range of $95,000 to $115,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as excellent benefits and opportunities for career growth and development.
