Respiratory Therapist PRN Job Description
HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist PRN to join our team. As a vital part of our patient care team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
Requirements:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Neonate Resuscitation certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT/RCP) certification.
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
- Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.

HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe is a 330+ bed medical center and a tertiary referral center, providing high-quality healthcare to the Montgomery County region for over 80 years. We are a Level II Trauma Center, Certified Primary Stroke Center, and Accredited Chest Pain Center, and we have a designated Level III Neonatal ICU.
