Job Title: Surgical Technician

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technician to join our team at the County of San Bernardino, CA. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures in our operating rooms.

Job Summary:

The Surgical Technician will assist medical staff with surgical procedures, maintain a sterile environment, and ensure that all necessary equipment and supplies are available. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist medical staff with surgical procedures, including preparing patients, setting up equipment, and maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Ensure that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and in good working order.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the operating room and surrounding areas.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to ensure that all procedures are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques and technologies.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of a Surgical Technology program within the past two years or six months of experience assisting surgeons and medical staff in an acute care operating room or outpatient surgery center.
  • Current Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a calm demeanor in high-stress situations.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
