We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our team as a tenure-track faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at North Carolina A&T State University.

About the Position

This is a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of either Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. The successful candidate will be a dynamic individual with expertise in mechatronics, specifically in automation, measurement techniques, and instrumentation used in all areas of mechatronic systems.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mechanical engineering and mechatronics
  • Develop and maintain an independent, funded research portfolio in mechatronics
  • Engage in vibrant and diverse collaborations and service activities
  • Mentor students at the undergraduate and graduate levels
Requirements
  • Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a technical field closely related to mechatronics
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Commitment to work and conduct research with a technically diverse and multicultural community of professors and students
  • Commitment to pedagogical activities that will lead to the advancement of engineering education and research in the mechatronic field
  • Demonstrated record of research and scholarship in the area of mechatronics
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least five years of postdoctoral or industrial experience in the field of mechatronics
  • PE License highly encouraged but not required
  • Demonstrated record of effective teaching and scholarly publications in the field of mechatronics
  • Demonstrated commitment to service to the community, and university and profession
