Position Summary:

This role is pivotal in defining and prioritizing significant quality projects and ensuring their successful execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee quality assurance programs to pinpoint critical control points and preventive strategies, establish essential limits, and monitor procedures while executing corrective actions and verification processes.
  • Contribute to achieving operational quality objectives by providing insights, data, reports, and trend analyses for strategic planning and reviews, leading to system enhancements and corrective measures.
  • Facilitate internal and external corrective action processes related to systems/products necessitating CAPA's.
  • Validate quality process specifications and attributes, assess production metrics, document evidence, determine operational qualifications, review non-conformance logs, and update quality assurance protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with Production, Engineering, and Development teams to uphold product quality.
  • Establish and enforce quality requirements in alignment with organizational needs through functional groups.
  • Champion company-wide quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assess and refine techniques for quality and reliability control.
  • Act as a liaison with external stakeholders regarding product quality matters.
  • Engage in travel to customer and supplier locations as required.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to address quality-related issues.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers and internal departments concerning quality matters and support the quality department with supplier-related challenges.
  • Conduct quality audits of manufacturing processes and components.
  • Assist the team with new product introductions and engineering modifications to ensure accuracy in quality documentation and support NPI signoff.
  • Work alongside the continuous improvement team to implement process changes.
  • Participate in team meetings, document action items, and keep the team informed of customer concerns.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and understand simple instructions, correspondence, and memos; proficient in writing basic correspondence.
  • Competence in basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Capability to read and interpret technical drawings and work orders.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing statistical tools and performance measurement systems.
  • Experience in a sheet metal manufacturing setting, familiarity with LEAN Six Sigma, Green Belt, CQE, and/or ISO 9000 Auditing is preferred.
  • Certification in blueprint reading is required.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.

Work Environment:

  • This position involves frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibrations, with occasional risks of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate, occasionally reaching loud levels.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and communicate verbally. Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
