Job Summary

The InsideHigherEd team is seeking a highly qualified Culinary Arts Instructor to join our adjunct faculty. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in culinary and baking courses to students with diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Course Development: Develop and align course syllabi with learning outcomes, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging learning experience for students.
  • Instructional Delivery: Design and deliver class instruction that meets course competencies, utilizing various teaching methods and assessment tools to promote student success.
  • Technical Competency: Enable students to develop technical culinary competencies through effective instruction, fostering a conducive learning environment that promotes student growth.
  • Student Support: Manage the learning environment by maintaining accurate records, enforcing policies, and providing prompt responses to student and staff communication.
  • Professional Development: Contribute to a learning culture by engaging in professional development opportunities, staying updated with industry trends, and relating professional experience to learning.
Requirements
  • Education: Higher education certificate or degree in Culinary Arts or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in culinary roles, with a strong track record of success.
  • Certifications: Current ServSafe Food Manager's Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Associates Degree or higher in Culinary Arts or a related field.
  • Certifications: American Culinary Federation (ACF) Certification.
  • Teaching Experience: Prior teaching experience, with a focus on culinary arts education.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Learning Management Systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse workplace.
