Key Responsibilities

  • Perform wheel truing and builds
  • Service suspension systems
  • Consult with customers on custom bike builds
  • Manage daily service tasks
  • Execute minor repairs, including flat tire changes
  • Repair or replace damaged components
  • Install accessories such as lights and racks
  • Conduct routine safety inspections
  • Clean, de-grease, and lubricate bicycles and parts
  • Diagnose issues and provide accurate repair estimates
  • Create service tickets using the point of sale system
  • Maintain detailed records of services performed
  • Assemble new bicycles and ensure quality control
  • Educate customers on additional products and maintenance
  • Communicate effectively with customers in person, by phone, and via email

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Preferred experience: 2 years as a mechanic
  • Preferred experience: 2 years in mechanical inspection
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a technician/mechanic in a bicycle shop, demonstrating proficiency in:
    • Disc brake setup and adjustment
    • Bleeding various brake types
    • Derailleur setup and adjustment
    • Suspension setup and maintenance
    • Wheel building and frame alignment
    • Understanding bicycle fit and industry knowledge
  • Ability to perform comprehensive tune-ups and troubleshoot issues
  • Strong time management skills and initiative
  • Flexibility to work varied hours
