POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting directly to the Facilities and Transportation Manager, the Facilities Assistant plays a crucial role in the upkeep and repair of all Agency buildings, facilities, and vehicles. This position involves collaboration with other Facilities Assistants and contractors to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations pertaining to maintenance, transportation, and facilities management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Preferred: At least one year of experience in maintenance or facility services in settings such as educational institutions, childcare centers, restaurants, or healthcare facilities.
  • Preferred: At least one year of experience in vehicle maintenance and knowledge of parts and supplies related to transportation equipment.
  • Skills in construction trades such as carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, and roofing are advantageous.
  • Some experience in office tasks, including record keeping, spreadsheets, and public interaction is preferred.

  • While executing the responsibilities of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively. The employee frequently needs to stand, walk, sit, and perform tasks such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee must regularly lift and/or move items weighing between 10-30 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
