About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Liquid Systems Engineer III to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our Fluids team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in the design, development, and integration of liquid distribution subsystems for our pathfinding mission to the moon.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team, ensuring the successful development and integration of liquid distribution subsystems.
  • Develop and maintain technical requirements and interfaces for the subsystems, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test the subsystems, ensuring they meet performance and safety requirements.
  • Lead the development of detailed design and component development plans, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Work with internal and external suppliers to design, build, test, and analyze components, ensuring they meet company standards and regulations.
  • Mentor and train team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in fluids and mechanical systems/components, with a focus on liquid distribution subsystems.
  • Experience developing, integrating, and certifying aerospace systems for flight.
  • Experience with fluid/gas components, including solenoid valves, directional valves, manifolds, regulators, pressure vessels, and instrumentation.
  • Experience leading small teams and subcontractor teams to accomplish objectives.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Familiarity with agile or waterfall project management.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Systems Engineering experience, specifically requirements and interface definition, management, and verification.
  • Cryogenic fluids experience.
  • Experience with 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) programs (ANSYS Preferred).
  • Experience with upper stages and spacecraft.
  • Experience with the entire life cycle of a propulsion and fluid system.
Compensation and Benefits

Compensation for this role will be competitive and based on experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability, 401(k) with a company match of up to 5%, and an Education Support Program.

Paid Time Off: Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.

Discretionary bonus: Bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
