This role is situated within the Department of Information Technology Services (ITS) at Florida State University.

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) team collaborates with university resources to establish and uphold user identities while facilitating user lifecycle, authorization, and access management for interconnected systems and applications.


Responsibilities

Accountable for delivering operational support to IAM-related business processes and data integration efforts between source systems, the enterprise identity management system, and other university entities.

Engages with various functional and technical domains to identify, troubleshoot, and mitigate challenges associated with identity and access management, including identity creation and ongoing maintenance, Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and provisioning/de-provisioning of both internal and external systems.

Adjusts relevant code, configurations, and other elements to modify system behavior in alignment with university initiatives as required. Employs various scripting languages and interfaces as necessary to execute required modifications.

Tasked with analyzing requests for modifications, configuration changes, enhancements, and/or workarounds as needed, contributing to the continuous improvement and enhancement of FSU's IAM systems and business processes concerning enterprise identity and access management and authentication.

Ensures that requests are submitted and approved through the appropriate channels.

Proactively collaborates with FSU business analysts, functional owners, and data custodians to explore opportunities for increased efficiencies and provide solutions for recurring challenges.

Adheres to established procedures for testing and migration of fixes, ensuring comprehensive documentation of issues and resolutions while updating tickets and cases. Updates test scripts and configuration documents to reflect modifications and/or configuration changes. Develops test scenarios.

Responsible for supporting reporting and information needs by ensuring requests are processed through the appropriate channels. Analyzes to determine the most suitable reporting tool for various items. Collaborates with the reporting team and/or develops necessary queries or reports to support the function. Follows established procedures for testing and migration while providing clear and sufficient reporting documentation.

Conducts duties in compliance with ITS policies, guidelines, and processes related to support requests, work orders, project management, change management, and incident management.

Utilizes associated tools in accordance with ITS standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field, along with three years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent combined with seven years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with API technologies
Understanding of user authentication concepts, technologies, and protocols
Experience managing directories (e.g., Active Directory and LDAP)

The ideal candidate possesses the ability to resolve software and application issues, perform problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up; establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence in the team; build relationships with internal and external stakeholders; and demonstrate strong follow-up and organizational skills.
