  • Oversee automation personnel, financial resources, and project timelines to align with departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Formulate and manage budgets for capital projects aimed at the development of new and updated automation systems.
  • Coordinate and prioritize tasks among departmental resources and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Innovate automation solutions that support production efficiency and improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for automation solutions, including designs, purchase orders, preventive maintenance schedules, and control software.
  • Devise cost-effective strategies for automating both new and existing manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure that operational and preventive maintenance documentation is established for all newly implemented automation equipment.
  • Foster a work environment that promotes cleanliness, comfort, and safety.

Qualifications:
The following qualifications are essential for success in this role:

  • Proven track record in developing and leading a team of engineers focused on creating new automation technologies.
  • Expertise in designing and constructing complex machinery to automate manual operations.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in machine control technologies, including PLC programming.
  • Proficient in the design, construction, and troubleshooting of intricate electrical systems.
  • High mechanical aptitude with the ability to create and interpret detailed mechanical schematics.
  • Familiarity with relevant software applications related to mechanical and electrical design as well as control systems.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing process equipment.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations pertaining to machinery and equipment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

Education and Experience:

The following educational background and experience are required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing, with a preference for metal stamping, assembly, and laser welding.
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing an engineering team focused on equipment development.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

This role necessitates the ability to:

  • Lift up to 50 pounds and work in environments with elevated noise levels and vibrations.
  • Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols.
