We are looking for a dedicated Principal Scientist to become a vital part of the Analytical Chemistry Group at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. This position focuses on pioneering mass spectrometry technologies that enhance our research and development initiatives. You will oversee the analytical development of therapeutic protein candidates throughout various phases of drug development, from initial candidate selection to final regulatory submissions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the characterization of biotherapeutics, such as monoclonal antibodies, bispecifics, and adeno-associated viruses.
  • Take responsibility for formulating analytical strategies and methodologies to identify and assess quality attributes, including risk evaluation and control strategies related to product and process impurities.
  • Offer analytical expertise and support for formulation development and collaborate with upstream and downstream teams to address real-time challenges in process development.
Qualifications:
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience in preparing regulatory submission documents and a solid understanding of industry practices and regulatory guidance in analytics development.
  • A passion for scientific inquiry, coupled with strong leadership skills and a commitment to collaboration.

This position requires a PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related discipline, along with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience and a track record of publications in the field. A robust background in liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry, particularly in protein therapeutics or AAV, is advantageous. Proficiency in mass spectrometry techniques for protein characterization and process development, along with analytical and problem-solving skills, is essential. Familiarity with software related to LC and MS, such as Xcalibur, MassLynx, and Empower, is desired. Experience in DIA data analysis is a plus.
