About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Visiting Faculty member for the IHP Climate Change: The Politics of Land, Water and Energy Justice program. This position involves traveling with students to four different locations, facilitating learning, and teaching two courses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate learning and teach two courses: Political Economy and Environmental Change since 1492 and Fieldwork Ethics and Comparative Research Methods
  • Facilitate student learning through processing of non-lecture program components and provide timely feedback on assignments
  • Regularly participate in all country program activities, including guest speakers, site visits, and other non-lecture components

What We Offer:

  • An estimated salary of $28,000 - $32,000 per year, commensurate with experience
  • Travel insurance provided outside of home base and subject to plan terms

Your Background:

  • A terminal degree (PhD or equivalent) in political economy, sociology, anthropology, history, geography, political ecology, or other social science or interdisciplinary field engaged with environmental studies
  • Experience teaching at the college level and a strong commitment to experiential learning
  • Experience living and working abroad, ideally in at least one of the program countries listed above (Morocco, Nepal, and Ecuador)
