Position Overview:
The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional nursing care, ensuring the comfort and health of patients. The RN engages as a primary caregiver, collaborating as a team member or leader in the planning and execution of patient care strategies. The RN also provides guidance and oversight to all support personnel within the department.

It serves as the primary emergency facility in the area and is recognized as the only Level II Trauma Center in the Coastal Bend, staffed with healthcare professionals trained in emergency medicine.

Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing.
- Preferred: One year of nursing experience.
- Current Texas State RN License or Compact RN License.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association).
- ACLS certification required at the time of hire for experienced RNs; new graduate nurses must obtain ACLS by the end of the clinical orientation period.
- NIHSS certification required within 90 days of hire/transfer.
- De-escalation training required within 90 days of hire/transfer.
- TNCC certification required within 6 weeks of hire for experienced RNs; new graduate nurses must obtain TNCC within 18 months of hire/transfer.
- PALS certification required at the time of hire for experienced RNs; new graduate nurses must obtain PALS by the end of the clinical orientation period.
