Job Title: Registered Nurse - HIV/AIDS Program

Join the State of Florida's team as a Registered Nurse in the HIV/AIDS Program. As a key member of our team, you will provide professional nursing duties in the HIV/AIDS Program and in the Clinical Services department.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer HIV/AIDS and nPEP services in the HIV clinic setting, utilizing current HRSA and Ryan White standards and complying with program requirements.
  • Provide STD and HIV clinical services to clients, administering treatment as ordered by clinicians.
  • Review immunization records for missing doses, administer required immunizations, and make appropriate referrals as indicated.
  • Complete required electronic documentation in Health Management System (HMS) and Provide Enterprise System.
  • Participate in health fairs and community events.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities through periodic chart reviews, daily medication inventory, and timely follow-up of client lab results for education and treatment.
  • Provide nursing education and interviews in the HIV/AIDS clinic and assist the general clinic for Family Planning, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and HIV client services.
  • Provide accurate completion of the Superbill to facilitate the check-out and billing process for each client.
  • Administer medications, long-term injectables, and immunization services in the clinic setting of the FDOH Seminole, including satellite clinic sites, utilizing the current CDC immunization schedule and safe recommended techniques for vaccine administration.
  • Provide services to clients requesting immunizations, other adult immunizations, and flu vaccines during the flu season.
  • Complete required documentation in Florida Shots and the Health Management System (HMS).
  • Assist with orientation and training for new nursing and clerical staff.
  • Provide nursing coverage in the general clinic for Family Planning, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and PrEP client services.
  • Comply with program requirements through participation in ongoing training and updates in the TRAIN online system.
Requirements:
  • Valid Florida Registered Nursing License or a multi-state Registered Nursing License from another compact state, in good standing.
  • Willingness to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of records as specified by departmental regulations and laws.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Verifiable experience working with any of the following programs: STD, HIV/AIDS.
  • Bilingual (proficient in English and Spanish).
