Ambulatory Care Nurse Manager

As a key member of the Kaiser Permanente team, the Assistant Manager Ambulatory Care RN, Oncology will oversee daily operations and patient care activities in a single department or multiple small departments. This role is responsible for ensuring staff provides high-quality, accessible, cost-effective care and patient-focused services to members across the continuum, complying with local, state, and federal requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ambulatory care and oncology, with experience in supervising daily operations and implementing clinical practice standards. They will also have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily operations and service delivery
- Ensure staff provides high-quality care and complies with regulatory requirements
- Implement and maintain patient care and quality service standards
- Act as patient advocate and resolve patient care issues
- Recommend and implement processes to improve systems and patient care results
- Assist in developing and monitoring budgets and resource allocations
- Monitor financial performance and identify strategies to reduce costs and improve quality of care
- Supervise the implementation of policies and procedures
- Collaborate with physicians and department chiefs to develop patient services and day-to-day operations
Requirements:
- Minimum two years of experience in ambulatory care or other relevant clinical experience
- OR two years in a healthcare leadership capacity
- OR completion of Kaiser Permanente Southern California Postgraduate Fellowship in Health Care Administration
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Registered Nurse License (California) required at hire
- Basic Life Support required at hire from American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clinical specialization in area of practice preferred
- Oncology/Infusion experience is preferred
- Healthcare supervisory experience is preferred
