Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data collection and entry into the Trauma Registry, as well as collaborating with healthcare professionals to improve trauma care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in departmental strategies to ensure the successful provision of programs, reporting, and projects in support of the wellbeing of the trauma department and trauma program.
  • Conduct primary and secondary reviews of process measures, filters, and complications according to institutional guidelines established in compliance with regulatory oversight and governing bodies.
  • Prepare and/or present tertiary reviews at trauma morbidity & mortality meetings, including appropriate related peer review documents.
  • Collaborate with trauma program leadership to prepare and/or present monthly reports and appropriate tertiary reviews for the multidisciplinary QI and Trauma Operations meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations and maintain the integrity of the Registries.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
  • Three to five years' experience working with complex system issues such as triage or program development required.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent clinical judgment.
  • Comprehensive understanding in the use of medical records for data abstraction.
