Job Title: Data Governance Foundation Sr Lead Analyst

Job Summary:

The Data Governance Foundation Sr Lead Analyst will be responsible for driving activities that contribute to the definition and implementation of the Enterprise Data Governance Strategy, Data Risk and Control Framework, and Data Risk Taxonomy. This role requires excellent communication skills, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills to guide, influence, and collaborate with colleagues across diverse business lines and functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with partners to lead establishing, managing, and implementing policy adoption plans, compliance metrics, communications, and training.
  • Lead business analysis through collection, analysis, review, documentation, and communication of business needs and requirements to understand requirements and align them to Data Governance and/or Data Risk and Controls standards.
  • Contribute to the establishment of Data Governance and/or Data Risk and Controls standards in alignment with Enterprise Chief Data Office and ensure proper documentation of processes.
  • Support key Data Transformation projects across the organization as Subject Matter Expert in data management.
  • Lead activities to ensure roles and responsibilities related to data are understood and implemented across businesses.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely execution of milestones, provide reporting of potential risks to delivery, and incorporate milestone reporting and changes.
  • Capture requirements, develop delivery plans, and manage the entire lifecycle of metrics and report production.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in Banking or Finance industry in a Data Governance/Data Management/Process Engineering or equivalent role.
  • Working knowledge of industry standard Data Management practices, Data Governance, and Data Compliance within large, financial services firms.
  • Experience in delivering change and transformation – project/programme management/business analysis/testing.
  • Communicates effectively, develops, and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
  • Collaborates effectively by building partnerships and working well with others to meet shared objectives.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills across a variety of stakeholders at different levels.
  • Optimizes work processes by balancing effective/efficient processes with a focus on continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Data Management certification (e.g., DAMA).
  • Programme/change management/Agile certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, SAFE).
  • Knowledge of and an interest in commonly used Data Management tooling and approaches (e.g., Data Quality, Data Lineage, etc.).
  • Understanding of current and emerging data-dependent technologies and products, including analytics, Cloud, and AI.
