Job Summary:

Caterpillar is seeking a skilled Welder Specialist to join our team. As a Welder Specialist, you will be responsible for safely welding in all positions according to company specifications and standard work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow documented procedures, standard work, routings, and blueprints to perform safe and defect-free operations.
  • Hand weld all plain and alloy structural steel in all positions.
  • Use of jib or gantry crane to manually position weld equipment.
  • Grind and dress fabricated weldments.
  • May operate forklift, scissor lift, and area lift to access weldments.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of FCAW experience and experience with 10+ multi-pass welds on heavy 2" plate.
  • Experience with back gouging, carbon arcing, or air arcing.
  • Must pass 3 weld qualification tests using FCAW large diameter wire (3/32 and.052).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Safety-first mindset.
  • Understanding of quality requirements and ability to execute.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Ability to work well individually and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work overtime to support production demands.

Additional Information:

This position is located at a Caterpillar manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to lift up to 50 pounds. We offer a competitive hourly pay rate, plus shift differential, and a comprehensive benefits package.
