Job Summary

The Island Resort and Casino is seeking a highly skilled and experienced HVAC Technician to join our team. As an HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems throughout the resort.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the Preventative Maintenance Program to ensure the efficient operation of HVAC systems.
  • Monitor and operate building DOC/BMS systems to maintain effective temperature control.
  • Maintain and repair chillers, AHUs, HRUs, RTUs, RTVs, VAVs, fan coils, ice machines, refrigerators, freezers, PTAC units, drinking fountains, and smokeaters.
  • Communicate equipment-related deficiencies and potential failures to management.
  • Be available for on-call status and respond to pages with diligence and professionalism.
  • Communicate mechanical crisis service needs and failures to management.
  • Oversee and participate in refrigeration handling and recovery in accordance with EPA regulations.
  • Assist in the installation and removal of HVAC/R equipment.
  • Maintain air filter inventory and critical parts inventory.
  • Assist B+G employees technically and physically.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. (College preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of previous HVAC/R Technician experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC/R operations and maintenance principles, practices, tools, and materials.
  • Safety conscious and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Results-oriented with strong impact awareness skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office software.
  • Universal EPA certification for Types 1, 2, and 3.
Physical Demands
  • Stand for up to 7 hours of an 8-hour shift.
  • Sit for up to 3 hours of an 8-hour shift.
  • Walk for up to 7 hours of an 8-hour shift.
  • Climb ladders and utilize man-lift equipment as needed.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently during an 8-hour shift.
  • Work with various cleaners on a daily basis.
  • Wear rubber gloves.
  • Use both hands for repetitive motion for up to 7 hours of an 8-hour shift.
  • Frequently bend, squat, reach, twist, and rotate as needed during an 8-hour shift.
