Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Technician to join our team at UNC Health Care. As an HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various refrigeration and air conditioning systems, including associated air handling, control devices, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze building heating and cooling systems to recommend modifications for improved operation and energy efficiency.
  • Complete required documentation for records and reports in a timely and complete fashion.
  • Conduct repairs and operations of all systems on an emergency basis.
  • Install, repair, and maintain various HVAC, chilled water, and refrigeration systems.
  • Perform maintenance and operational tests on HVAC, chilled water, refrigeration, and hot water system devices.
  • Troubleshoot and repair chilled water, HVAC, and refrigeration control circuits and equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repair of refrigeration, chilled water, air conditioning, and air handling equipment.
  • Provide first response fire brigade and disaster relief support as required.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification for all levels of work performed.
  • Heating Contractors, Group 3 Class I license or Refrigeration Contractors license for Technician level work.
  • Six (6) years of direct experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, air handling, chiller, chilled water distribution, refrigeration, and control systems.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position with a standard 40-hour workweek. The work schedule is day shift, with rotating shifts and/or set day/evening/night work schedules as required.
