Job Title: Support Technician

Join Kittitas County, WA, in a dynamic role as a Support Technician, where you will play a crucial part in maintaining the County's desktop computers. As a key member of the Information Technology team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional technical support to County staff, ensuring seamless operations, and delivering high levels of satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide top-notch technical support to County staff, resolving issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Triage and prioritize service requests, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, managing service requests from initiation to closure.
  • Research, resolve, and respond to support requests, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Install, update, support, and manage desktop and laptop computer systems, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant hardware and software products, maintaining a high level of technical expertise.
  • Attend training sessions, assist in training, and provide individual user training to ensure staff proficiency.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in call-tracking systems and knowledgebases.
  • Manage the inventory of County computer hardware and software, ensuring timely updates and replacements.
  • Act as a liaison between IT and County employees or the public, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Liaise with support vendors as necessary, ensuring seamless support and resolution.
  • Document all aspects of essential functions and work performed, maintaining a high level of transparency.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of experience providing computer maintenance services in a technical environment, with at least two years of increasing responsibility.
  • College courses in Computer Science or Management Information Services may substitute for some experience requirements.
  • Valid Washington State driver's license.
  • A criminal history and background check will be performed, including fingerprinting, to ensure the candidate's suitability for the role.
